About Harrisburg

   The capital of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg rests on the Susquehanna River about 90 miles west of Philadelphia. The State Capitol building is patterned after St. Peter's in Rome. Nearby Hershey, Pennsylvania is the home of the famous Hershey chocolate factory and amusement park.
   There are two airports in Harrisburg: Capital City (CXY) which is across the river in New Cumberland (indicated by white plane and IATA code). The Capital City airport is used by general aviation (private, charters, etc.) and a few air taxies and has no scheduled passenger service, The other airport, Harrisburg International (MDT), is on the Harrisburg side of the river (indicated by blue plane and red IATA code) and is served by several commercial scheduled airlines. Harrisburg International (MDT) is Harrisburg's primary airport.
