$$ | Miles | Fit | Kit | I'net This column indicates the typical price range of this hotel. We use the following codes: E=Economy (under $50), M=Midrange ($50 to $100), U=Upscale ($100 to $150), L=Luxury (over $150). Please note that room rates fluctuate (seasonal popularity, special events in the area, etc.).
The approximate distance in miles from the exit to the hotel. These are calculations using GPS data. Distances along city streets will be somewhat different but this should give you a good idea of the distances to Discount Hotels near the cited Interstate exit.
Discount Hotels near I-85 in High Point offering 'fitness' or exercise facilities are indicated with an F in this column. If the hotel also has a spa, it is so indicated by an S in this column. Most hotels define a 'spa' as a large hot tub with built in water jets. In a few cases, fitness facilities and spas may be off-premises (entry by pass issued by the hotel) in which case dressing rooms are also present for your convenience.
Discount Hotels near I-85 in High Point offering a full kitchen or 'kitchenette' are indicated with an 'K' in this column. An 'M' in this column indicates microwave available. If the room also has a refrigerator, it is so indicated by an 'R' in this column. Many hotels have some rooms furnished with microwaves and small refrigerators but you have to request them. We list them only if there is not an additional charge (or so they have informed us).
Discount Hotels near I-85 in High Point offering Internet access are indicated (with an M for dial-up and W for wideband) in the I'net column. Please note that 'wideband' facilities vary. In addition to a network port (usually installed in the docking station), we suggest you bring along cables and your Windows distribution CD (in case you are required to load a special network driver). For 'dial up dataports', you would only need a modem and an RJ-11 patch cord (which you should always have with you, anyway). To check rates, amenities or make hotel reservations, just click on the hotel name.

About High Point
|
High Point High Point is on I-85 but, a short cut from I-40 is (at exit 196) US-311 south from I-40 into High Point. Visitors' Center
- The first place to stop should be the High Point Convention and Visitor's
Center at 300 S Main Street (which is also US-311). The visitors center
is right in the middle of it all but, more importantly, they have a
nice, printed tour guide which directs you to a series of tour stops. These may include Furniture Discovery Center, a hands-on educational museum; High Point Historical Museum & Park, for insights into the furniture city's history; The World's Largest Chest of Drawers, a four-story building shaped like an 18th century chest as a tribute to The Home Furnishings Capital of the World™ Market Square, a former furniture factory built in 1900 and listed on the National Historic Register and Replacements, Ltd., the world's largest china, crystal and flatware inventory with a rare Royal Copenhagen Christmas Plate collection. Angela Peterson Doll
& Miniature Museum - One of the south's largest doll museums, featuring more than 2,200 dolls, miniature displays, dollhouses, costumes and unusual artifacts,
and includes the lifelong collection of one woman. Also a special exhibit of over 115 Shirley Temple dolls, 17 African-American Personality dolls, and other rotating doll and miniature exhibits. Groups and individuals welcome. Group guides by reservation. |
Furniture Discovery Center - This unique museum simulates a modern furniture factory. Here, you can actually see how furniture is manufactured. Very popular are their famous Kupjack miniature bedrooms, the Furniture Hall of Fame and, yes, a talking tree. There are even some hands-on exhibits. The Atrium Furniture Mall - You want to shop for some furniture? The Atrium Furniture Mall houses over 20 distinctive galleries representing almost 700 furniture lines. You will find such styles as 18th Century European, Contemporary, Shaker, Traditional, Ultra-modern and much, much more. Many of the galleries also offer interior design services. All provide packing and nationwide shipping.
