- located in the restored, 1928 Union Pacific Depot. (listed on the
National Register of Historic Places)
Eisenhower
Center
- Center includes the Eisenhower Presidential Research Library,
Eisenhower family home and Place of Meditation where President and Mrs.
Eisenhower and their son Doud are buried. Open 8a to 5:45p Memorial Day
through mid-August and 9a to 4:45p daily the remainder of the year.
Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Days. Orientation film on
Ike is shown several times daily. A gift shop is in Visitor Center.

- Complete handcarved working carousel manufactured in Abilene at the
turn of century by C. W. Parker Amusement Co. Available for rides. |
Museum of
Independent Telephony
- tells the story of C.L. Brown, whose independent Brown Telephone
Company of Abilene, Kansas, grew to become the telecommunications
company known today as Sprint.
Lebold Mansion
- the restored ca 1880 Italianate mansion originally built for Conrad
Lebold, Abilene's leading banker, entrepreneur and real estate baron.
Passed to other hands upon his bankruptcy in the Great Depression of the
1880's. Under restoration by a succession of owners and now open to the

Seelye Mansion and Museum
- the restored ca 1905 Georgian style mansion built for Dr and Mrs.
Seelye. Contains many of the original furnishings (including Edison
light fixtures). Tourists may also view the Patent Medicine Museum
containing many of the materials and cure-alls from Dr. Seelya's Medical

Kirby House
- this mansion was built in 1885 but was used as a restaurant. It has 8
dining rooms. Still in business as a restaurant, today, serving lunch
