Vail Mountain, 100 miles west of Denver, is larger than nearly every other North American ski area, and is linked by a network of lifts and trails. Those same slopes provide the perfect trails for mountain bikes in summer.The Vail-Eagle County Airport is 4 miles west of Eagle, about 20 miles east of Avon, and about 30 miles west of Vail.
