Museum of Western Colorado - A science museum offering archeological digs and a variety of dinosaur exhibits. It also features a good cross section of exhibits about life in western Colorado from Native American, European pioneers and present day periods. More at wcmuseum.

Grand Junction has another distinction; this is wine country. And you can visit (and enjoy a little 'tasting') several of the area wineries.

Colorado Cellars - Located in the Grand Valley of Grand Junction, this winery is Colorado's oldest winery. Confre Cellars - Here is an unusual winery. In addition to the usual grape and other fruit wines, Confire Cellars produces mead, a beverage distilled from honey. And for a different adventure, stop by Cross Orchards. Step back for a moment in time in this restored, turn of the century, village.
